February Gallery Highlights

Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun's love
In the spring becomes the rose

~ Bette Midler ~

Sophie Frieda, Amour - oil 36x36
Snow in Little Norway?! Hope that everyone is enjoying this beautiful, albeit chilly winter season. While the temperatures have dropped outside, our little gallery has stayed warm and cozy. However, if you have braved the snow and walked by in the last day or two, you might have noticed that things have been a bit topsy turvy! With much coordination, the gallery has received a fresh coat of paint. We would love for you to stop by to warm up and check out our new look!

Snow outside the gallery!

Currently Carrie is on winter break painting with friends and teaching an oil painting class this week in Palm Springs. She will be painting on the road in a new RV/rolling studio RV and visiting galleries and museums in both California and Arizona. Here are the results of an encaustic nest painting class for four taught recently at her Hood Canal studio.

First encaustic class for these four ladies; they are ready for the next!

Sophie Frieda continues to teach oil painting while simultaneously working on a new larger floral series. Her latest piece featured above, Amour, is absolutely radiant and just in time for Valentine's Day and Saturday's Artwalk! Yes, Valentine's day is just around the corner...and if you have yet to find the perfect gift for your loved one, we would be delighted to help you find a special gift. From original paintings to greeting cards, our friendly staff is ready to assist you with whatever you are looking for.

Hayslette poster - Autumn's Shimmering Light No. 3

This Saturday, February 9th, 5-8pm, mark your calendars for Second Saturday Artwalk. Meet the renowned Max Hayslette, who will be autographing complimentary posters of Autumn's Shimmering Light No. 3 and showing his latest work. Please join us and all the art galleries on Poulsbo's charming Front Street for fine wine and festivities.

Carrie Goller Gallery is now on Winter Hours - Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 5pm (and by appointment). Located in historic downtown Poulsbo, the gallery features a mix of contemporary fine art from small to large-scale, in a variety of media, from paintings to sculpture to jewelry. Custom Jewelry by Charles Goller

Artist Charles Goller creates intricately wire-wrapped jewelry from precious gemstones and crystals which he selectively imports world-wide. He also does specialized custom work. He has worked hard to establish trusting connections and cares deeply about his sources; many in small villages around the globe, where the gems are mined by the villagers and contribute to the majority of their income. Recently Charles has been invited to a museum and several galleries in Sedona, AZ and Santa Fe, NM and is also supplying a New Zealand store with his work. Ever-expanding his skills, currently Charles is becoming an engraver, which keeps him rather busy. However, he still does accept commissions.
