August Gallery Highlights

The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious.
It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of
 true art and true science.

Hayslette - Brothers in Twilight 32x40
We hope that you all have been enjoying and taking advantage of this wonderful summer season. Our artists continue to bring in more beautiful original artwork, and in a renewed effort to fit it all in the gallery we constructed a new hanging wall. It was a team effort for such a project, and we are thankful for your patience over the week of time it took to complete and reorganize the copious amount of artwork we fit in our little space. Now we are back hitting the ground running and better than ever! You also might notice some new faces working in the gallery, as we have expanded our hours to every day. Stop in to meet Wendy and Elaine, who join Ann, Lauren and Carrie at our sweet spot on Front Street.

Encaustic Workshops with Carrie Goller
Upcoming Carrie Goller Encaustic Workshops

We are excited to announce that Carrie Goller will be teaching encaustic workshops in the fall! While we do not have the details hammered out quite yet, you can send us your name and email at info@carriegoller.com and we can get you on the signup list! Another quick way to get on the list for encaustic classes is to text ENCAUSTIC to 22828 to receive updates on upcoming workshops. More information about the classes will be announced on next month's newsletter.  For those of you already on the list, we appreciate your patience in awaiting these classes.

Carrie Goller - Creatures Comfort Solo Exhibit Bainbridge Island Museum of Art

If you haven't seen it we invite you to Carrie Goller's solo exhibit Creatures Comfort at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. Featuring twenty-four of Goller's original paintings and encaustic works in the Museum Bistro and classroom corridor, the show runs through September 30th. Additional work is available at the Museum Gallery Store. Take a break from the heat and enjoy this LEED Gold Certified museum, just a five-minute walk from the ferry in downtown Bainbridge Island. Admission is free, and there is additional summer programming; so check out their calendar for special events.

Speaking of, Carrie will be giving an Eye on the Artist lecture at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art auditorium on September 12th a 6:30pm. Also in attendance will be wood sculptor, Marceil DeLacy. Both will be discussing their work, inspiration, methods, and materials. There will be a reception and refreshments. You can purchase tickets for this one-night event here

Another fun event happening at the museum is the Meet the Artist series, happening every weekend this summer. Carrie Goller will demonstrate her painting process at two of these events on August 18th and September 23 from 1-4pm. She will be also be answering questions about her work and process.

Custom Jewelry by Charles Goller

Artist Charles Goller creates intricately wire-wrapped jewelry from precious gemstones and crystals which he selectively imports world-wide. He also does specialized custom work. He has worked hard to establish trusting connections and cares deeply about his sources; many in small villages around the globe, where the gems are mined by the villagers and contribute to the majority of their income. Recently Charles has been invited to several galleries in Sedona, AZ and Santa Fe, NM and is also supplying a New Zealand store with his work, which keeps him rather busy. However, he does accept commissions.  Email him at soulstarcrystals@gmail.com.
