White House Sources: Kerry's Stealth Lobbying Backfired. News of former Secretary of State John Kerry's alleged collusion with the Iranian government played a role in President Donald Trump's final decision to scuttle the Iran deal, two White House sources with direct knowledge of the president's thinking tell The Daily Caller.

Trump announced he was pulling out of the deal Tuesday, just a few days after news broke that Kerry had been parlaying with Iran in an attempt to keep the deal alive.
A source inside the White House with knowledge of the decision process tells TheDC that the Iran deal was "done" when Trump found out about Kerry's lobbying behind the scenes to keep the agreement in place. "Trump was headed that way but Kerry just took away any of the teeth of the detractors," the source said on background. "[Kerry's] bulls**t ultimately killed the deal."

Another source inside the West Wing confirms to TheDC that there was a frantic last-minute lobbying effort to keep the deal in place and that the timing of the Kerry news was "ironic." The source specifically blames Kerry's meddling in the process as a key decision point in the calculus for pulling out of the deal.
"It was by no means the reason [Trump] decided to pull out, but it certainly influenced the final decision," the source continued. "I mean, read the tweets."
President Trump attacked Kerry's actions on Twitter Monday, saying, "The United States does not need John Kerry's possibly illegal Shadow Diplomacy on the very badly negotiated Iran Deal. He was the one that created this MESS in the first place!"

Trump followed up, saying, "John Kerry can't get over the fact that he had his chance and blew it! Stay away from negotiations John, you are hurting your country!"

May Gallery Highlights

The purpose of art is
washing the dust of daily life
off our souls

~ Pablo Picasso ~

Goller - Little Norway Fall, Oil 36x48
Along with the other shops in downtown Poulsbo, we have finally opened our doors during the days to let in the warm air. We are excited by the flurry of events and activities that come this time of year, and there are are number to share with you this month.

New Goller Greeting Card - Dumpling

If you come into the gallery you'll find that we have a special sale on a selection of Carrie Goller framed prints. With Mother's Day around the corner (Sunday May 13th), these make great gifts. We also just received a fresh batch of greeting cards. Old favorites as well as some with some new designs are now restocked. These are perfect to write a personal note to the mom in your life. Besides the gallery, they may also be found at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art and Hey Day Farm Store.

Viking Fest is May 18th through the 20th. Due to the amount of traffic and general craziness during the day, the gallery will be closed Saturday May 19th during Viking Fest. We will reopen to normal hours the following day, Sunday the 20th.

Sponsored by the Peninsula Music and Arts Society, the third annual Paint out Poulsbo (POP) is a plein air event/juried show in downtown Poulsbo. The artists will set up around the downtown area on June 1 between 10am-6pm, and the awards and artist reception will be on June 2 from 5-6:30pm in the Sons of Norway building. The theme for this year will be "Time Machine."

And lastly, artist Carrie Goller will be featured all summer at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art Bistro. Carrie Goller: Creatures Comfort will open June 22nd and 23rd and remain on display until October 1. In addition Carrie has been invited for a special trunk show at BIMA on July 7th - stay tuned for more details about that in next month's newsletter.

Custom Jewelry by Charles Goller

Artist Charles Goller creates intricately wire-wrapped jewelry from precious gemstones and crystals which he selectively imports world-wide. He also does specialized custom work. He has worked hard to establish trusting connections and cares deeply about his sources; many in small villages around the globe, where the gems are mined by the villagers and contribute to the majority of their income. Recently Charles has been invited to several galleries in Sedona, AZ and Santa Fe, NM and is also supplying a New Zealand store with his work, which keeps him rather busy. However, he does accept commissions.  Email him at soulstarcrystals@gmail.com.
