Tomorrow, July 11th is Poulsbo's Second Saturday Art Walk! We are happy to introduce the work of our new gallery artist, Patti Sgecci. Playful, colorful mobiles and kinectic art sculptures are starting to arrive at the gallery and we know you will enjoy them as much as we do!
As you can see, the geometric shapes and bright colors echo point and line to plane - first used in early geometric european abstract art in the 1900's by Kandinsky, Klee, Miro and Calder.
I first met Patty on the Seattle Art Walk, and I was struck by her playful, whimsical, geometric mobiles which would brighten up a room or mood any day. The geometric leaf-shaped pieces are made of strong polycarbonate with oil paint and will tolerate bright light. They look great in a window or hanging from a ceiling. Currently we have 6 individual Sgecci mobiles. We have just 2 "Equinox" mobiles left, one blue/orange and one green/orange (see below).
Additionally, jewelry artist Charles Goller will be on-hand creating his unique custom crystal and gemstone pieces for Artwalk, we hope you can join us and see Charles at work. If you are unable to visit, you may shop at our online gallery Store at CarrieGollerGallery.com.
