Neighborly Appreciation - the Pacific Northwest
. . .

Dear Blogger,

How lovely to see such bright, sunny northwest days. Fresh air, sunglasses and boats in the harbor...just the right mix for sightseeing, social gatherings and yes, gallery hopping in the nine galleries and additional venues in Historic Downtown Poulsbo.

This month the Carrie Goller Gallery showcases some of our favorite community locals and locales. March 14th is Historic Downtown Poulsbo's Second Saturday Artwalk, 5-8pm. We welcome plein air painter extraordinaire, Robin Weiss and his easel to our Front Street location as he expertly captures the magnificent blooming Magnolia tree in front of our neighboring restaurant, Sogno di Vino. Visitors to the gallery during Artwalk will be able to watch Robin, sip Sogno di Vino wines, as well as receive a special 10% discount coupon for Sogno di Vino dining when signing up for our gallery e-newsletter

With paintings, sculptures and jewelry by local artists, our gallery is sure to inspire memorable souvenirs for the friendly folk that visit and live in the exceptional village we call Poulsbo.

Creatively capturing the world we live in today through art can be compared to our ancient relatives recording their cultural history using fingertips, sticks & natural pigment. Interestingly enough, those same tools & natural materials are still used to tell the visual stories unique to our time in history. Carrie Goller's documentation of the natural beauty surrounding the Puget Sound emphasizes the moody, diffused encaustic paintings of the Hood Canal, impressionist pieces reflecting small town life, and still-life paintings of the fruit, feathers and friends that happen to cross her path.
