With the changing of seasons we are shifting gears here at the gallery. First we have updated our store hours and will now be open Wednesday - Sunday from 11-5:30 to coincide with the cooler (and wetter) temperatures.
Max Hayslette has continued his record streak, with one of his recent pieces, Apple Tree Cove No. 2 (also this month's Artwalk poster, see below), snapped up by a collector twenty minutes after delivery! Lately his works have been larger and moodier, with dramatic shadows and bursts of color as seen in his painting above, Olympus Allegro. His new work has us (metaphorically) feeling the windy fall days from the warmth of our gallery.
As requested (thank you for your patience!), for the first time Carrie Goller is offering fall Encaustic Workshops - including a limited number of Introduction to Encaustic classes for gatherings of four or less. Check out the details HERE!
Carrie has wrapped up a successful run of her solo exhibition Creatures Comfort at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, and is thankful for the wonderful support from the staff at BIMA and everyone else who stopped by to see her show. If you missed it, a few of the pieces on display at BIMA have made their way back into the gallery.
After this busy summer Carrie has be happy to get back to her studio and try out some new directions in her work. Below is a new piece from her ethereal Romantical series, and in additional she has branched out into abstracted works. Metropolis features a fun interplay of shapes and colors inspired by a bird's eye view of cities. In the same style, Goller's piece Sputnika is painted on a recycled satellite dish. You can tell that Carrie always has fun in creating new artwork!

| Sophie Frieda continues with her stunning botanical and floral series and fits in a busy teaching schedule at her Bainbridge Island studio. Her latest piece - Delectable, features a vibrant Dahlia in full bloom rendered in oil.

Charles Goller has been continuing his private studies in metal engraving from a Grand Master Engraver in Seattle. He's been busy perfecting this slow and detailed art form, but is still taking custom commissions for wire-wrapped jewelry and, in the future, for custom engraving. If you are interested in discussing a custom piece you can email him at soulstarcrystals@gmail.com.
