Wow! What an amazing month it has been at our little gallery. The hustle and bustle of downtown Poulsbo is energizing to the spirits of the artists and our staff. We have a number of exciting things to share with you.
First off, congratulations to our very own Carrie Goller for an amazing opening to her summer solo exhibition Creature Comforts at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art! It was a full house on opening preview night celebrating the kickoff of a number of new exhibits for the summer season. Twenty-four of Goller's original paintings and encaustic works are featured in first floor bistro and classroom corridor, with additional works in the museum store. The show will run through September 30th. If you have not yet visited BIMA, we encourage you to go visit this LEED Gold Certified museum, just a 5 minute walk from the Bainbridge island ferry. Admission to the museum is free and it is listed as one of America's Best Small Town Museums by CNN Travel. It is truly a gem in our community.

And to follow up on this fantastic news, Carrie Goller has a Trunk show at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art this Saturday, July 7th from noon-4pm. Carrie will be in attendance with a special selection of her recent works and will introduce her new encaustic/mixed media hummingbird series as well. Find more details on the flyer below.
The families of the artists and staff at the gallery celebrated this successful month by gathering on the Goller's boat, the Alice Louise docked in Liberty Bay and watching the annual Third of July Fireworks together. It was lovely to spend the evening taking a break from all the work to celebrate and chat with one another. Max Hayslette even made time in his busy schedule to come out and join in the festivities.
Going into July we have even more new artwork at the gallery to share. Max Hayslette is currently working on one of his ever-popular mountainscapes of the Brothers, while Carrie Goller has been working double-time to get some fabulous new bird paintings completed. Sophie Frieda also has some new floral and botanical paintings on display, perfectly capturing the vibrant hues of orchids and slender stalks of flax.
And don't miss out on PETSWALK coming up on July 21! This fun annual event drew out more than 450 people and their pets in a 5k charity race supporting our beloved Humane Society. The race starts at 9am and includes costumes of the human and canine kind.
