| | | May is a month of BIG artwork here in the gallery! We are thrilled with Max Hayslette's stunning new pieces - Cape Flattery No. 2 and Rendezvous, both large works featuring the vast coastal seascapes of picturesque Washington state. Carrie Goller's new work includes a sculptural interpretation of her Native series; an encaustic painting on raw edge wood measuring forty inches is one of the smaller of her new works! Next up is Native XIV - an abstract encaustic panorama of eighty inches. But the piece that takes the cake is Florence - a dreamy forty-eight by sixty inch oil painting of gentle pinks, blues and greens, highlighting the kindly face of a gentle giant bovine. It's hard to miss these big beauties, come on by and pay them a visit.

The second annual Paint Out Poulsbo (plein air event and juried art show with musical performances) is scheduled for this coming weekend. For more information or to enter, see Peninsula Music and Arts Society's website: www.themusicandart.com/pop.html. Carrie will be judging the Saturday Plein Air division along with artist Derek Gundy, but will be sure to make it on time to ArtWalk.
Mother's Day is this Sunday, May 14. We have art and gifts available in many sizes, shapes and price ranges, please ask us for ideas.
Another big event this month is Viking Fest, which will take place in downtown Poulsbo from Friday, May 19 though Sunday, May 21. This epic gathering will celebrate the town's Nordic history with lots of games and festivities. The gallery will be CLOSED Saturday for Viking Fest, and will reopen Sunday for normal hours.
Thank you to everyone who came by Artwalk in April to celebrate our three year birthday with us! We had an awesome turnout and it was absolutely wonderful evening. In case you missed it, details for this month's Artwalk are below.

This coming Saturday, May 13, 5-8pm, please mark your calendars for Second Saturday Artwalk! Max Hayslette will be autographing complimentary posters of Rendezvous (see image below), between 5-6:30pm and showing his latest work. Please join us and all the fine art galleries on Front Street for wine and fun.
Carrie Goller Gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday 11:00am to 5:30pm. Located in historic downtown Poulsbo, the gallery features a mix of contemporary fine art from small to large-scale, in a variety of media, from paintings to sculpture to mobiles.
