Creatures will be highlighted at Carrie Goller Gallery this month during Poulsbo's Second Saturday Art Walk. Enjoy the camaraderie of fellow art enthusiasts and gallery patrons for a tribute to the small (and sometime not-so-small) beings that live in backyards, forests and fields. We are continuing the small collectible oil/encaustic series which has been so popular for the holidays, as well larger, full-scale oils. Plus, new wire wrapped crystal and semi-precious stone pendants by Charles Goller, plein air paintings by Robin Weiss, and masterful bronze and wood works by Northwest Coastal artist, James Bender. Reception in the Gallery, 5-8pm.

CARRIE GOLLER IN STATE-WIDE CVG SHOW ART COMPETITION Carrie Goller's Storm Looming oil, has been chosen for participation in the 2015 CVG Show in Bremerton's Collective Visions Gallery. This annual art show is one of the largest juried art competitions in the Northwest. Over 270 artists from 70 Washington cities submitted nearly 800 artworks for consideration. Of these, only 130 pieces were selected for inclusion in the show. Greg Robinson, Executive Director and Curator of the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, is slated as guest juror for this year's event. Prize awards totaling $7,500 will go to 11 artists in multiple categories. Additional prizes include a $2,000 purchase award by the Kitsap County Arts Board, a $300 People's Choice Award and a $1,000 Best of Kitsap Award sponsored by the Cultural Arts Foundation Northwest. Representing Carrie in the competition is the charming 24x24" oil on canvas painting entitled "Storm Looming." Ominous clouds fill the sky over a field of grazing sheep. The dark but rich colors that make up the angry storm are painted with a subtle softness, much like the gentle woolen souls oblivious to anything but nibbling. Noted for her diversity in use of medium, technique, and subject matter, Carrie has produced artwork for collectors from around the world and in 2014 opened Carrie Goller Gallery. The 2015 CVG Show is open to the public through Saturday, February 28. The Collective Visions Gallery is open Wednesday - Saturday, 10-5pm, and Sunday 12-4pm, and is located in Bremerton, Washington at 331 Pacific Avenue. | | |
