This large encaustic/mixed media piece was a corporate commission incorporating the company logo - the figure of a woman. It is very textural, which unfortunately my photo does not reflect well.

Five Hundred Beats a Minute

The humming bird is the smallest kind of bird in the world.  Also because of their feeding style, they are the only birds who are able to hover.  Their wings beat at an average of 500 beats a minute to help them stay aloft.
